Europe – Xiaomi has officially expanded its smart wearables portfolio with the debut of the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses and the Redmi Buds 8 Lite. The new devices were announced alongside the European launch of the Redmi Note 15 series, signaling Xiaomi’s continued push into lifestyle-focused audio technology.
The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses are designed to look like regular eyewear while integrating advanced audio hardware. They feature dual built-in speakers and a quad-microphone system, allowing users to enjoy music, take calls, and access voice assistants without traditional earbuds. This design targets users who prefer open-ear audio while staying aware of their surroundings.
Xiaomi has added touch-sensitive controls on the temples of the glasses, enabling playback control, volume adjustment, and call management through simple gestures. A press-and-hold gesture activates real-time recording for calls and meetings, while wind noise reduction and a dedicated privacy mode help reduce sound leakage in public spaces.
The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses are available in three styles: Brownline and Pilot-Style, both priced at €179, and a lighter Titanium version priced at €199. All variants feature IP54 protection against dust and splashes. The Titanium model weighs just over 27 grams without lenses, while all versions maintain slim 5mm temples for comfort. Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 5.4 with support for dual-device pairing.
Battery performance is another highlight of the smart glasses. Each temple houses a 114mAh battery, delivering up to 13 hours of music playback or up to 9 hours of call time. Charging is done using a proprietary magnetic charger that connects to a USB-C adapter, offering a clean and minimal charging solution.
Alongside the glasses, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Buds 8 Lite, its latest budget-friendly true wireless earbuds under the Redmi brand. These earbuds feature large 12.4mm titanium-diaphragm drivers and support Bluetooth 5.4 with dual-device connectivity. Audio is delivered through AAC and SBC codecs, with tuning options available through Xiaomi’s Earbuds app.
Despite their low price, the Redmi Buds 8 Lite include hybrid active noise cancellation rated at up to 42dB. Xiaomi has also integrated wind-noise and call noise reduction to improve voice clarity. Battery life reaches up to 8 hours on a single charge, extending to 36 hours when combined with the charging case.
The Redmi Buds 8 Lite are available in Black, White, and Blue, with a competitive retail price of €23. With these launches, Xiaomi continues to strengthen its position in the smart wearables market by offering feature-rich devices at accessible price points.
