In Kenya, blood transfusions are vital in saving lives, especially as approximately seven people require blood every 10 minutes. Despite the high demand, the country faces a significant shortage of blood, with only 16% of the required supply collected. The Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority (KTTA), established in August 2022, has taken the initiative to collect, test, process, and distribute blood and blood products to transfusing hospitals across the country.
