Nigeria’s rapidly growing creator platform, StoriPod, has teamed up with Busha, Nigeria’s first SEC-licensed digital asset exchange, to integrate stablecoin payment infrastructure. This partnership aims to offer seamless fiat-to-crypto payment rails, eliminating withdrawal barriers for writers across Africa.

StoriPod, a social storytelling platform where creators publish, readers discover, and writers monetize their stories, is now powered by Busha’s payment system. This integration allows StoriPod’s growing community of 150,000+ creators to receive instant, borderless payouts in stablecoins, giving African writers the ability to earn from a global audience without the usual delays, fees, and restrictions associated with traditional cross-border payments.

The Creator Economy’s Challenges in Africa

African writers have long faced significant challenges when it comes to monetizing their work. Many global platforms like Medium and Substack either don’t support African creators or impose complex, country-by-country payment barriers, making it difficult for writers to access their earnings. In Nigeria, where StoriPod’s community has produced over 2 million stories, many talented writers were left without compensation for their work.

James Nelson, Founder of StoriPod, explains: “There’s no platform that enables people who write incredible stories to actually make influencer money. Writers deserved better.” Through its partnership with Busha, StoriPod has removed every barrier between creators’ work and their earnings, allowing writers in Lagos, Accra, and beyond to earn in stablecoins and access instant payouts to their local bank accounts.

Empowering Creators with Stablecoin Payments

The integration of Busha’s stablecoin infrastructure enhances StoriPod’s unique monetization model, where creators earn from locked content, tips, and reader engagement. The platform enables creators to keep 70% of all earnings, with some creators already seeing up to 20 times their previous income compared to traditional platforms.

Nelson highlights the impact of this integration: “From Lagos to Accra, writers can now earn in stablecoins and cash out instantly. This is the future of creator monetization in Africa.”

Busha’s Role in Powering StoriPod

For Busha, the partnership with StoriPod demonstrates its ability to provide enterprise-level infrastructure for fintech innovators utilizing crypto payment rails.

Michael Adeyeri, CEO of Busha, explains: “We built Busha’s API infrastructure specifically for companies like StoriPod — businesses that need reliable, compliant, and scalable crypto payment rails to power their vision. StoriPod is proving that when you remove the friction from creator monetization, African talent can compete both continentally and globally. We’re proud to provide the financial infrastructure that makes this possible.”

Busha’s compliance status, deep liquidity pools, and 99.9% API uptime position it as the leading partner for Nigerian fintechs and global players requiring robust stablecoin infrastructure for payments in the country.

The Surge in StoriPod’s Popularity

StoriPod’s growth trajectory reflects the vast potential within Africa’s creator economy. The platform expanded from 50,000 users in mid-2025 to over 150,000 by year-end. With a remarkable engagement rate of 56.7%, far surpassing industry standards, StoriPod is not just a place for passive consumption. Users are actively creating more than 29,000 story communities (“pods”) each month and monetizing their content in ways that were previously unimaginable for African creators.

“Platforms like Wattpad tried, but they weren’t built for African creators,” says Muhammad Sal, a digital marketing expert and StoriPod user. “Monetization was locked behind huge follower thresholds and Western standards. StoriPod is different; it’s built from the ground up with monetization in mind, designed for micro-audiences and intimate storytelling.”

Future Growth and Expansion Across Africa

With Busha’s infrastructure enabling instant payouts across the continent, StoriPod is poised to scale throughout Africa, providing sustainable income to a new generation of African storytellers. The platform is set to further disrupt the African creator economy by giving writers the freedom to monetize their work without the usual barriers.

As StoriPod continues to grow, it’s clear that the partnership with Busha is a game-changer, enabling writers across Africa to earn money from their stories, connect with global audiences, and unlock their full creative potential.
