Xiaomi 18 Render Leaked: iPhone 16 Pro Lookalike Design Revealed

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 18, has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling, and the renders reveal a striking resemblance to Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro. While the Xiaomi 18 won’t be released until September 2026, the early glimpse into its design has already sparked comparisons with Apple’s 2024 model. The leak shows a design that many might mistake for an iPhone 16 Pro, with key similarities in the camera island, screen curvature, and overall aesthetics.

Though it’s still months before its official debut, the design leak has raised eyebrows. Xiaomi, known for drawing inspiration from Apple’s designs, appears to have taken a page from Apple’s playbook, creating a look that is visually similar to its competitors’ flagship phones. The comparison is especially noticeable when considering the design of the camera island, which features a large, multi-lens setup reminiscent of the iPhone 16 Pro’s configuration.

Design Similarities: iPhone 16 Pro Lookalike

The Xiaomi 18’s render shows a sleek, modern design with a pronounced camera island, which some believe looks almost identical to the iPhone 16 Pro. While the size and shape of the camera array are slightly larger on the Xiaomi model, the similarities are unmistakable. The curvature of the device’s corners is also notably similar, further adding to the iPhone-like aesthetic. Removing the Xiaomi and Leica logos from the design would likely leave many people hard-pressed to distinguish it from an iPhone at first glance.

While Xiaomi has clearly taken cues from Apple’s design language, the Xiaomi 18 will likely offer a unique set of features that differentiate it from the iPhone. It’s a reminder of how competitive the smartphone market is and how design elements are constantly being refined and reinterpreted to meet consumer expectations.

Xiaomi 18 Specs: What to Expect

Despite the design leak, much of the Xiaomi 18’s specifications remain shrouded in rumors, though some key features have already surfaced. The phone is expected to sport a 6.4-inch OLED display, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks for an immersive viewing experience. As for the camera system, the Xiaomi 18 is rumored to include a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, making it an impressive choice for photography enthusiasts.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC, which promises to deliver top-tier performance. However, it won’t feature the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which will be reserved for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max versions. These higher-end variants will likely come with an even higher price tag, aligning with the trend of offering flagship-level specs at a premium price.

A Strong Contender in the Flagship Market

Xiaomi has consistently pushed the envelope with its flagship devices, and the Xiaomi 18 looks set to continue this trend. While the leaked design may echo Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro, the phone is shaping up to have enough of its own unique features to make it a worthy contender in the flagship market. Whether Xiaomi can manage to stand out amidst Apple’s dominance with its latest flagship offering remains to be seen, but the Xiaomi 18’s camera array, performance, and design could be the elements that give it an edge.

As more details emerge about the Xiaomi 18, it’s clear that the device will be a major player in the Android space, competing directly with other flagship models. With a release date still months away, we expect more leaks and rumors to surface in the coming weeks, providing a clearer picture of what the Xiaomi 18 will offer to consumers.
