In a surprise move, Oppo is set to release a new foldable device, the Oppo Find N7, in September 2026, just around the same time as Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone Fold. This comes shortly after the announcement of the Oppo Find N6, which was expected to be the only foldable from Oppo for 2026. However, reports suggest that Oppo’s second foldable of the year will share a wide book-style foldable design with the iPhone Fold, making it a direct competitor to Apple’s first entry into the foldable market.
Impressive Features and Design
The Oppo Find N7 will closely resemble the Find N6, with both devices featuring an 8.12-inch 2K LTPO OLED inner display and a 6.62-inch AMOLED cover screen. Under the hood, the Find N7 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with 16 GB of RAM. This would be a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Find N5, which uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
As for the camera, the Oppo Find N7 will likely continue Oppo’s trend of excellent mobile photography. Rumored to feature a 200 MP primary camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera, and another 50 MP ultrawide sensor, the Find N7 is set to push the boundaries of mobile photography for foldable devices. Additionally, the phone will come with a 6000 mAh battery, with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest-charging foldables available.
Lightweight and Stylish
Despite all the upgrades, Oppo has managed to reduce the overall weight of the device by 4 grams, bringing it down to 225 g. While slightly heavier than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 (which is expected to weigh 215 g), it’s much lighter than the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold (weighing 258 g), which could give it an edge in terms of portability and daily use comfort.
A Year of Foldables
2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for foldable smartphones. With the iPhone Fold arriving alongside the Oppo Find N7 and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, the foldable market will have more options than ever before. Oppo’s focus on delivering a sleek, feature-packed foldable with the Find N7 could provide a serious challenge to the iPhone Fold, setting the stage for a competitive foldable market.
